It was a stunning day to be outdoors today! Summer temps, and no wind! Just stellar!
We cut wood, dragged the arena, and dragged the pens. Dan cleaned up all of the poop and ground hay off of their pens, too. I even had time to play with Image! I decided to 'restart' her. I taught her how to circle me to the left, like it was her very first time doing it.
I put a halter on her and snapped the long rope onto it. We walked calmly together to the place we had been circling, but we did it without the hay. I did have lots of treats, though. She had been begging me for treats, so I knew I had her attention and what she was looking for. I proceeded to ask for the tiniest thought of going left. She tipped her head. She got a treat. I backed her up a wee bit. Waited a moment for her to ask me a question. When we were connected again. I asked her to think about going left, again. Each time she offered a wee bit more. Her head, her head and right foot, her head, right foot, neck and left foot, her head, neck, front feet, shoulders and one hind foot, etc. Before we knew it she could do a half circle to the left without any dust or fuss. I was so proud of her.
