Heartfelt Gratitude Practice: Partnership

I noticed this watermark image this morning while taking my vitamins. Usually images appear at the bottom of my Magic Glass, but today the image that caught my eye, was on the counter. A gift from my Angelic Team? This image reminds me of our horses and their beautiful partnership with each other. 

They will watch over each other's backs, keeping an eye out for anything that might be approaching. Turkey, deer, a cat, a dog, people walking on the road or a coyote passing through. We have even had the odd Mountain Lion pass by, as well. Horses will also groom each other, play with each other and watch over each other as they take turns sleeping. They are a herd animal and their partnerships are important. 

Today, was a warm day, for February, in our area. It feels like April. So we decided to do a little spring clean up. Our horses had not eaten all of the hay, we put out for them, throughout the winter. Today was the day to clean up the gravel. Gravel prevents mud from being an issue, for the horses and for us. Mud is not good for horse hooves, nor is it good for my boots. (I like to keep my boots on my feet, not stuck in the mud). So, we do our best to keep the gravel cleaned up, when we can.

I drove the tractor first. I was confident driving the tractor and dumping the hay into a pile. However, I could not get the drag set correctly when I was trying to scrape just the hay off, leaving the gravel intact. I was disturbing the gravel, which was mixing with the wet hay and causing a huge mess. I was incredibly grateful for my husband, because when I became unconfident with my tractor skills, he took over.

Once the hay was dealt with, we were able to drag the gravel up. Now, that it is clean and dragged, it will do what it does best, allow rain water to drain well, prevent mud and help my horses self trim their hooves. 

Today my heartfelt gratitude is for my cherished partnership.
